I really don't know what to call these. I decided to experiment and this is the result.

1 can corn, not the creamed corn with the liquuid
2 cups Bisquick more or less
1 egg

I mixed everything together and dropped it into the deep fryer a spoonful at a time. I served them with maple syrup. They were so good! They were crispy on the outside and tender in the inside with a good corn flavor. I made this as a breakfast item but it could also be a side dish especially without the syrup. They could be served with sour cream or whatever else floats your boat.

I edited this to put it into a better format plus I forgot to include the egg.

Leni, what do you think would happen if I baked them rather than deep fried? They sound really good. Thanks for sharing.

I don't think that they'd come out crispy on the outside. The flavor would be the same.

Leni, one more question: Did you add any liquid to the recipe, i.e., the liquid from the can of corn or was the egg enough moisture?

I used the liquid from the can. For those of you who don't like Bisquick you could use any other pancake mix. I added use the liquid from the can when I saw you question. I had forgotten to state that.
