I found this recipe on Epicourious. It is so easy and delicious! I'm sure that you could use this with a lot of different fruits. I just bought my first strawberries from Tapia Brothers and think I'll use them tonight.

3/4 stick unsalted butter
1 cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup milk
2 cups blueberries

Pre heat the oven to 375.

In an 8" square or other 2 quart baking dish melt the butter. Into a bowl sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and sugar until combined well. Add milk and wish the batter until it is just combined. Pour the batter into the melted butter, do not stir. Pour the berries into the center of the batter, do not stir. Bake the cobbler in the middle of the oven 40 minutes or until the cake portion is goldenand berries exude juices.

My husband who usually just says that 'it's okay' said that this was 'very good'.

Leni, You went to Tapia's for strawberries, how are they? Isn't it still early for good berries?

They were perfect! The berries are totally red, huge, and very sweet. We ate them out of hand last night for dessert. This morning I'm cooking cheese blintzes and slicing the berries on top of them. You know where Tapia is located don't you?

Yes, thank you Leni I do know where Tapias is. I have lived in the area for sixty years. I will go tomorrow, if it doesn't rain. and pick some strawberries up. Thanks again

Leni this sounds really good. I've got a copy to my favorites when I go off my diet. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the recipe.

For those of you who live in the Valley, Taipa Brothers has what they call jam berries for $10 a flat. These are berries that have been damaged by the rain but are perfect for making jam.
