I'm looking for an implement much like a pastry scraper. I suspect it is heavier, and has a wooden handle on the top. You see them occasionally on the cooking shows, for scooping up the product from cutting boards, etc. I looked on the sites of the usual suspects, Star Equipt, W & S, Sur la Table. No luck.

Maynard are you referring to a dough scraper?

And on the wicked looking side, a cheese knife

Maynard, I bought a new one not long ago at HomeGoods. However, they can be kind of hit or miss. You might also check Bed Bath & Beyond.

Kim:

Bingo! Exactly what I was looking for. Ordered one immediately, rosewood handle to boot.
I was watching 101 places to chow down, on the Travel Channel. They featured a joint called Black's B B Q in Lockhart TX. Their sous chefs were using these scrapers as a hold down as they carved roasts, briskets and sausages instead of a carving fork. I was impressed by the ingenuity, and thought, I have to try this. Thanks again, and thank you Champagne as well.

You are welcome. I wasn't sure if that was what you wanted. I've seen them at some of the Smart and finals also.

BTW; I really like that site, lots of stuff there. if you want to look around.

I sent it onto Melinda. She said that she'd never seen this website before. Who knows? Thanks to you Kim it may be added to the Resource Guide.
