Has anyone had this problem? I make toffee every year at this time and it tastes great. My dilemma comes when I break it into pieces. The top layer of chocolate and nuts slide right off the toffee. Then comes the fun part. I have to put each piece into the oven along with the topping and melt it back onto the toffee. Talk about time consuming! I make sure that I've put the chocolate on the toffee before adding the nuts, so there will be a clear surface for the chocolate to adhere to. It all works out in the end, however, I'd love to know the reason why it's not sticking. Thanks!
Sue

Hi Sue, click on the link below and scroll down to "Separation - The Most Common Toffee Pitfall." There's also lots of other helpful info about toffee.

Thanks, Champagne! I'll check the web site and see if I can find the answer! You're a life-saver.
