HELP, I AM TRYING TO FIND A BALSAMIC (VINEGAR) GLAZE...
I PUT THE `VINEGAR' IN THE TITLE ALTHOUGH IT MAY JUST BE BALSAMIC GLAZE.
TRADER JOE'S USED TO CARRY IT, BUT THEY DON'T HAVE IT ANY MORE.
A FRIEND TOLD ME ABOUT IT'S MANY USES & DELIGHTS AND HE CAN'T FIND IT ANYMORE EITHER...FOR ONE THING, IT DOESN'T SEPARATE WHEN MIXED WITH OLIVE OIL AS A DIP..
I LIVE IN VENTURA, SO HOPEFULLY THERE IS SOMEWHERE NOT TOO FAR AWAY WHERE I CAN BUY IT...
THANKS

If you lived in Los Angeles, I'd suggest calling Surfas. I would think they would have it.

Amazon.com sells it online.

Here's a simple recipe for making your own balsamic glaze; http://www.organicauthority.com/organic ... pe_26.html

Thanks Lin! I keep learning something new everyday from this site. My first thought was "just boil down some vinegar to get your glaze". Well, I didn't know the acidity would remain! Thanks again for the tip. It probably applies to any vinegar reduction.

Make your own!

1 cup Balsamic vinegar
1 cup Water
1/4 cup Brown sugar

Boil down to how you like it.

I don't use the best Balsamic to do this.

Wonderful over strawberries!

I heard today on Melinda's radio show, that Whole Foods has it. Perhaps you were the caller.

wow...thanks FoodGuy! How funny, I listened only to the first hour of the show today...had other things to do (& I get impatient & annoyed with so many commercials,) so wouldn't you know I missed the balsamic glaze answer!
I know, I know...that's what KNX must need to have happen, but SO many!!!??
I did get an answer (not in actually talking to Melissa) at the last minute of the 8 O'clock hour to a question I asked on Saturday & then I called again to ask it this morning (about how long to marinate chicken & tofu).
Wonderful Ventura isn't far from a Whole FoodsStore in Thousand Oaks.
Thanks again.

A balsamic reduction is the glaze. Just gently slowly cook your balsamic vinigar down. Balsamic vinigar is everywhere

Check the lable for caramel color added. That's the cheap nasty stuff

Fresh and Easy is where I bought mine. Very reasonably priced too.
