Hi Everyone!

It's that time of year again (cookie baking season). Has anyone seen the Andes Creme de Menthe baking chips? Bought some about a month ago in Utah - should have gotten more - can't find them here yet!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ellen, I've never used Andes Creme de Menthe baking chips, so have never looked for them in the store. However, someone on eBay has them for sale.

Type the following in the eBay search bar:

ANDES CREME DE MENTHE BAKING CHIPS

This particular seller (lynnerobin) is willing to negotiate price. Perhaps you can contact her through "Ask Seller A Question" and negotiate the shipping fee. She has 5 bags to sell.

I'm hoping someone out there can help you with a local source.

Gloria, thanks for your suggestion - the only place I have been able to find them so far is Walmart Super Center. I guess that I am too early in the season, but last year I got them at Vons - went back a day or two later, and they were all gone. I looked at the ebay site and Candydirect, but both were pricey compared to the local sources.

The cookies are excellent, and the aroma while they are baking is just amazing - makes you want to open the oven door, and eat them right away!

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Ellen M.

Don't know if they are there this year but I found some at target. I saw them when I first walked in the store, not in the food section although you might try the candy area.

I saw some Andes mint chips at the Target in Seal Beach the other day, if you want to get an early start on your holiday baking!

Are the chips different from just chopping the after-dinner 'thins'?

The Tootsie site also shows Peppermint Crunch, Cherry Jubilee, Toffee Crunch, Mint Parfait, and Andes Crème de Menthe Sugar Free.

I am SO salivating looking at all the sweets!

MsMarm,

It seems like the baking chips hold together better. I tried a brownie recipe using the regular Andes mints chopped, and a portion shaved into curls. What a mess that was!

Andreaa,

I'll go by the Seal Beach Target, and try freezing some.

Thanks to both of you.
