I'm on a search for a good fat free mayo. Kraft has one but it's sweet...Trader Joe's also sells one, but I found it oily tasting. Have any of you found a good one?

Thanks!
Sue

Hi Sue, is low-fat/light a possibility? Unfortunately, fat-free can mean taste-free. I never use anything but Best Foods when it comes to mayo. I'm just not sure if they make a fat-free version. If they do, I'd opt for that over anything else.

Do you think adding lemon to the Kraft fat-free would help the sweetness?

In my humble opinion, fat free mayonnaise is an oxymoron.

Hi Champagne!
Best Foods would be fine, although I've never looked to see if they have light or fat free mayo. Either would work. I've got to make a run to the store tomorrow, so I'll check. In response to your suggestion about adding lemon juice, I read the ingredients and about 3/4 of the way down it says, "lemon juice", however, I'll try putting equal parts or so of both into a bowl to sample and see if that helps. Thank you soooo much!!!

Sue, Best Foods definitely makes a light mayo...I'd go with that one.

Champagne,
I purchased the Best Foods light mayo yesterday. Haven't opened it yet as still have two jars to finish of the other brands...I tried putting lemon juice in the Kraft (sweet) mayo and it now tastes like cheesecake batter. Hmmm, maybe I will open the Best Foods afterall. Thank you. It's always fun and informative to share with you!!!

Ick...not exactly what you want mayo to taste like. I'm guessing Kraft's mayo might be similar to the sweetness in Miracle Whip. You shouldn't detect that kind of sweetness in the Best Foods.

And the winner is...Best Foods Light!!!

It tastes almost like the real thing AND has fewer calories. What's not to like!!!

Thanks, Champagne!
